Donald Ray Vance Sr.

He was born in Layland, WV on April 8, 1961. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Eller; step-father, Isaac Eller; sister, Rose Lee; brothers, Dallas and James; and grandparents, Homer and Allie Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughters: Roselee Vance Copenhaver, Holly Vance, Ashley Vance, Amanda Vance, Haley Vance, and Dawn Vance; son: Donald Vance Jr., Brian Vance and Jacob Vance; grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; his loving sisters: Myrrl Gibson and Ethel White.

Donald enjoyed working at the Briar Patch Golf Links for many years. He loved spending time with family and being outdoors, riding his bike and he loved to cook.

Funeral services will be held at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 1 PM with Pastor Paul Basham officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior for family and friends. Burial will take place at Smith Family Cemetery in Layland, WV.
