Alice Virginia Phillips, age 92, of Plainfield, Indiana passed away on Thursday July 4, 2019. Alice was born June 28, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mayme (Neugent) Byers and Earl Byers. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Marion Phillips Jr., daughter Sharon Virginia Lawson, and sons-in-law, John Sipf and Paul Lawson. Alice was the matriarch and care giver for her family and loved music, ensuring that all her children learned to play musical instruments. She played in a band for the USO beginning in high school through her 20's. She also served as the Vacation Bible School director for her church, Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. After meeting her husband through the USO, Alice began her family and operated her own business, Just For You Fashions.
Alice is survived by her; daughters, Peggy Sipf; son, Larry Phillips (Margaret); daughter, Beverly Theriot (Keith); daughter, Donna Shaffer; son, Earl Phillips (Kristy); 17 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren with 2 on the way.
Alice will be laid to rest Monday, July 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
