Charlie and Mary raised 7 children, Charles Jr. (Diana), Bob (Pam), Larry (Barbara), Brian (Debbi), Philip (Julie), Monica (Jerry) and Paula (Bob); 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dad was born and raised in Beech Grove the only son of Dodge and Mary Davis; brother to Bernice (deceased) and Doris. He spent his whole life there except for 3 years serving his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. It was while he was stationed at Quonset Point, RI that he met the love of his life Mary Deleone. They were soon married, moved back to Beech Grove and proceeded to add a wing to St. Francis, whatr with having 5 boys and 2 girls. Dad was a retired from the US Post Office as a letter carrier, and while he didn't have many hobbies, he and mom were very active, going to garage sales, goodwill, and DAV stores. His favorite hobby though was visiting the local Indiana Casinos, and doing his part to help the state meet its fiscal resposibilities. In his later years, Pop discovered that his calling in life was to make others happy. He was often seen wearing a silly hat or wig. He was happiest when he could get someone to smile at his costumes.
