Ira "Jay" Smith 84 Indianapolis, IN was born February 26, 1938 in Hazard, KY to the late Curt and Elizabeth Smith. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Deanna and several brothers and sister.
After retiring from Wonder Bread he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching old westerns, the Cincinnati Reds and the Kentucky Wildcats. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Jay is leaving behind four children; Debbie Durbin, Dale Smith, Susan Weaver and Vanessa Smith. Five grandchildren; Angie Campbell, Amanda Brown, Jessi Fields, Charlie Kingery and Breanna Smith. Twelve great-grandchildren Rayna, Aiden, Logan, Ella, Kenleigh, Macy, Samuel, Lukas, Lydia, Landon, Audra and Brennan, two great-great-children; Isaiah and Anastasia and brother Billy Smith.
Funeral will be held at Little & Sons Beech Grove Funeral Home 1301 Main St. Beech Grove IN 46701, on Monday May 9, 2022 with a calling from 11am-1pm, services immediately following . Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood IN.
