Leo Martin Hartman, age 98, of Beech Grove, Indiana passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023. Leo was born in Elwood, Indiana to the late Francis (Hornbach) Hartman and John Hartman. Leo was a US Army veteran and served in WWII. He worked as a researcher for Eli Lilly for 38 years before retiring in 1983. He was a founding member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He loved to take the family on camping trips and to play cards.
Leo is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret (Ruhlman) Hartman; son, Marty Hartman (Cindy); daughter, Susie Thompson (Steve); many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N 17th Ave, Beech Grove, Indiana 46107, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 PM.
He will be laid to rest in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N 17th Ave., Beech Grove, Indiana 46107, holyname.cc.
