Mary Helen Kleinhelter, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday May 20, 2020. Mary was born January 31, 1929 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Jeanette (Hayden) Moore and Marvin K. Moore. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Kleinhelter; 6 sisters; and a brother. She was an active member at the American Legion Post 391 in Fortville for many years. Helen was an accomplished artist and enjoyed the works of Thomas Kincaid and Bob Ross. She enjoyed playing organ, but couldn't read music. She played by ear. Helen was a great cook and loved cooking for her boy and was a first class caregiver. She would make the rounds on Saturdays to check in on and care for her family. She never admitted her age past 29, and when it was clearly silly to claim to be 29, she just wouldn't tell. She would prefer you don't do the math, just remember she led a full and loving life in her 29ish years.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Teresa Tully (Shawn); son, James "Jim" Burt; 2 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mary will be held Monday, June 8, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be Monday, June 8, 2020 at 12:00 PM, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove, Indiana with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana. Facial coverings are required, social distancing, and a 25 person at any given time capacity will be observed. The service will be live streamed on the Facebook page of Little & Sons - Beech Grove and on her page at www.littleandsonsbeechgrove.com.

I was so saddened to see that Helen had passed and we were unable to share our condolences. I worked with Helen at American Red Ball from 1979 to 1984. We often went to lunch together at Yen Ching's on East Washington. She and Jim were at my wedding in 1984 and I have a few pieces of her artwork. She painted a deer in the woods scene on the blade of a hand saw for my husband, and in 1996 when my Mom passed, she and Jim came to the funeral and brought me a beautiful painting of roses. She remembered that my Mom loved roses. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gift and I cherish it. My husband and I used to live in the 42nd and Post area and would stop by to visit her and Jim in their home on the Pike, and she would play the organ for us. She was the most elegant and sweet woman I had ever met. The absolute epitome of a Lady, and though we lost touch over the years, I thought of her often. I tried twice to contact her after Jim's death via the facebook accounts of family members, but wasn't able to get the info needed to make contact. I'm so sorry I missed my chance. She and I had a wonderful friendship. I can hardly wait to see her again in heaven, and I know she is happy to be back with Jim again in God's Kingdom. I wish you peace in your loss.
