Born on December 8th, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William John Hughes and Florence Margaret (Vinson) Hughes. Michelle attended Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Grade School and then graduated in 1977 from Manual High School in Louisville. Michelle worked in retail, starting in 1978 at Winn-Dixie where she worked for 23 years. Michelle was very proud of having attained management status with Wal Mart and instructing new employees. Michelle enjoyed being outdoors, particularly when the weather was nice, and loved to camp, swim and travel and gardening, and raised the best zinnia's in Marion County! She also liked to engage in boating on Lake Monroe and on Cumberland Lake. Michelle had a very positive outlook on life, loved to give advice when asked, was an excellent neighbor and was very easy to love by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Michelle will be horribly missed by her daughters Alanah Humphrey, Brooke Humphrey, grand-daughter Rylee Harper, brothers Doug (Pat) Diebold, Pat Hughes and James Hughes, sister Suzanne (JB) Buse, future son-in-law Aaron Harper, life-long friend David Andrews and her sweet dog Louie. Michelle was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 16th, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St, Beech Grove IN.
