Nancy was born to John William Gilliland and Helen Louise (Taylor) Gilliland. She married the love of her life, William (Bill) Messer, on April 14, 1951.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and her sons Billy and David.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Beech Grove. She became a member of the Beech Grove Jaycees in the early 1960s and many of the relationships she made have continued until now. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers in her yard.
In recent years Nancy enjoyed playing with her grandkids and great-grandchildren and watching their sports activities.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lu Ann Beagle, grandsons Sam (Carmeleta) Beagle and Adam Messer, and granddaughter Julia Beagle. She has 4 great grandchildren: Asher and Rhys Beagle, Lincoln and Eva Njai. She also leaves behind two daughters-in-law, Theresa Davis and Anna Orozco.
A Memorial Gathering will take place at Little and Sons Beech Grove Chapel on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 10:30am - 12:00pm.
