Ralph graduated from Martin High School in Kentucky in 1956. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country while being stationed in Korea from 1961-1963, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and was honorably discharged. Ralph also owned his own bar called "Ralph's Bar" and played country music in his band "Ralph Mullins and the Country Prowlers" for decades.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hilbert and Aggie Mullins, his two sisters Virginia (James) Bentley and Shirley (Glen) Murphy, and his older brother Baby Mullins. He is survived by his wife, Penny Mullins, children Doug (Kellie) Mullins, Becky (Benny) Duff, Marvin (Mel) Mullins, and James (Monica) Mullins. He is also survived by his grandchildren David (Samara), Denise, Shelby, Clayton, Jacob, Andrew, Landon and Jayce, as well as his great-grandchildren Isabella, Dawson and Michael. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and the many neighborhood children who regularly visited his home. He was a role model to many.
Ralph loved country music and playing with many of his musician friends, even teaching his grandsons how to play the guitar. He also loved western movies and tv shows. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family and loved ones.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center - ICU Unit in Indianapolis, IN for the immense care and compassion they showed Ralph and our family in his final days.
