

Born on December 22, 1928 in Indianapolis he lived a long life marked by dedication to his faith and family.
He was a devoted member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, where he remained deeply connected to his faith and church community.
He spent 39 years working for General Motors, beginning in the Chevrolet Parts Division and later continuing his career at Allison Transmission. While working there, he earned an Associates Degree in Business Management from Purdue University. Ray loved his hobbies which included bowling, reading and horseshoes where he was the Florida Senior Games State Champion.
He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather and is survived by his beloved wife, Delores Jean Hacker Rathz.
His brother Silvan (Carol) and sister Leonora Wenzlick survive and he was pre deceased by his sister Dolores Schubert.
He is also survived by his children, Debra Ward (Phil), Kathleen Bowman (Scott), Elizabeth O’Donnell, Shirley Getz (Bill), and Raymond Rathz Jr. (Kim).
Grandchildren Jennifer Bailey (Drew), Christie Ward (Michael), Rachael Allex (Matt), Michael O'Donnell, Lauren Moreillon (Connor), Dan Getz (Zoe), Emily Getz (Lawton), and Anne Getz; and great-grandchildren Sebastian, Sawyer, Spencer, Samuel, Ava, Nathan, and Claire.
His family was the center of his life, and he will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, and the care and love he showed to those around him.
Ray’s life was one of consistency, hard work, and devotion—qualities that left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 4th at 11 am at St Louis de Monfort Catholic in Fishers, Indiana. Visitation will precede at 9:30 am.
