Rosa Evelyn Benge, 96, passed away July 7, 2017. She was born June 3, 1921 in London, Kentucky to the late Gordon and Ida (Pickard) Bailey. She is also preceded in death by her son, Troy Wayne Hammonds; first husband, Oscar Ray Hammonds; and second husband, James Cecil Benge. She was a devout member of the Church of God. She enjoyed Bingo and crocheting. She would often make house shoes, scarves and blankets to give to family members or to deliver to nursing home residents.
She is survived by her daughters, Mona Gregory (Clyde White), Millie Brown, and Wanda Hammonds; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 33 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is 4-8 Tuesday, July 11 at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St., Beech Grove, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be 11 am Wednesday, July 12 at the funeral home with burial to follow at London Cemetery in London, Indiana.
