Ruth Rea Age

Ruthie, the oldest of four children, was born in Robeson County, North Carolina to Wilton and Tessie McGirt on November 1, 1938. She was married to James Leroy Age, Jr. on January 31, 1955, in Bennettsville, South Carolina. She worked as a financial counselor at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, Indiana for 30 years.

After being a young military wife, she and Leroy raised their family in Beech Grove, where they were active in the community, in a home filled with the music of Elvis Presley and her various crafting projects. Ruthie and Leroy retired to Florida before recently returning to Indiana.

Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, son James Leroy Age III, and siblings James (Buddy) and Gail.

Ruthie is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Leroy, son David Age (Elaine Wissel), daughter Sherri Crawford (Brian), son Bradley Age (Ruth), sister Mary Sue Hart, grandchildren Luke Age (Jenalee), Sarah Cullum (Brien), Brady Age, Brooke Age, great-grandchildren Ethan and Lena Age, Easton and Chase Cullum, as well as many nieces and nephews.
