Shelby Jean Atwood

Born June 15, 1937, in Liberty, KY to Elliot and Mildred Stafford. She worked at Western Electric for 28 years until the factory closed. She then went to Beauty College becoming a beautician. She owned and operated Hair Snips in Beech Grove on Main St. for many years.

Jean loved going to the casinos, quilting, bowling, and fishing. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her son David (Debra) Atwood; daughter Kimberly (Michael) Garvey; Grandchildren Jason (Denise) Atwood; Stephanie Garvey; Nathan (Kelli) Atwood; Josh (Erin) Garvey; Jonathan Atwood; sister Mary Coppage; Great-grandchildren Kohen, Kaleb, and Sophie Atwood. Gracelyn, Callie, and Liam Garvey. Landon, Noah, Ty, and Elizabeth Ramsey.

Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Clyde; brothers Kenneth and Paul Stafford: sister Bernice Ford.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am– 1:00pm on Thursday July 17, 2025, at Little and Sons Funeral Home at 1301 Main St. Beech Grove 46107, followed by a funeral service.

Jean will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following her funeral service: 435 W Troy Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225.
