

He was born in Cost, Texas on May 8, 1922, graduated from Gonzales High School, then joined the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Patsy Miller Burton, a daughter, Diane Burton Taylor and a son, David W. Burton, as well as 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. After a few years at Humble Oil (ExxonMobil), he was in industrial sales then became a small business owner and operated several businesses. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, was very active in the Arabia Temple Shriners, and provided transportation to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children. He was also an avid antique car enthusiast and a member of the Piney Woods Auto Club. Funeral services will be at the Levy Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonett at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 4, followed by a military ceremony and burial in the Gonzales Memorial Cemetery, Gonzales, TX at 4:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Westbury United Methodist Church of Houston in memory of Andy Burton.
