Ann Lucia “Lolly” Tamborello Baker passed away peacefully Sunday, February 7th, 2021 after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Lolly was born January 4,1943, in Houston, Texas to Dorothy and Joseph Tamborello, the youngest of thirteen children. She attended Holy Rosary School, St. Agnes Academy, the University of Dallas, and the University of Houston. She was the Director of Bayland Community Center in Harris County for 21 years where she met some of her dearest friends.
Lolly was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a beautiful smile which she generously shared with all she encountered. Her family and her deep Catholic faith were the most important things in her life. She took enormous pride in her three children and adored her two grandchildren. She had numerous nieces and nephews who shared so much love that each of them liked to think of themselves as “her favorite.” Her Italian heritage was a source of great pride and she dedicated a lot of time researching her Sicilian ancestry.
Lolly discovered calligraphy later in life and quickly became a skilled and very talented artist. She passionately pursued a career as a calligrapher and graciously gifted her family and friends with elegantly addressed wedding invitations and place settings. She also donated her time and talent to various Catholic churches.
Lolly is survived by her three children; Rick Baker and wife, Tracy, Brett Baker, Stephanie Reilly and her husband, Bob Reilly and grandchildren, Patricia Reilly and George Reilly; siblings Marie Aydam, Camille Hill, Punkin Goodman, Sissie O’Connell and Sam Tamborello and wife, Carol; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joseph Tamborello, Charles Tamborello, sisters, Magdalen Van Nes, Dell Tamborello and Mitzie Tamborello.
