

Anna Mae Lyle passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was born in Aurora, Minnesota on July 26, 1928, daughter of Ludwig and Dorothy Drobnich. She graduated from Aurora High School, and later, completed nursing school in Hibbing, Minnesota.
She was known for her dedication and compassion as a nurse and provided patient care at the Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals in Texas, where she met her husband, Dr. Francis Austin Lyle. The couple settled in Houston. They raised two children, son Greg, and daughter Linda.
Anna Mae enjoyed volunteering as a school nurse and helping with school fundraising events. She enjoyed making ceramics, and also shared her musical talents, singing in the church choir and playing the organ.
In recent years, Anna Mae was under the care of the dedicated staff at Colonial Oaks at Braeswood. She enjoyed time with the residents there and with her family members, including grandchildren, Christopher and Laura, daughter, Linda, son-in-law Roger, and her calico cat, TDC.
A memorial mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft St., Houston, TX 77096.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the St. Thomas More Catholic School Foundation or to Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org)
