

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years, enlisting in 1964, and honorably discharged in 1967. He graduated from University of Louisiana at Monroe, (formerly Northeast Louisiana University), on January 20, 1971, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Bill started working as an accountant for the City of Houston on December 4, 1984, and retired on May 1, 2015, as a Division Manager- Budget Revenue Accounting. He enjoyed listening to jazz, appreciated art, and loved cooking for his family. One of Bill’s favorite pastimes was watching football, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four of his siblings, one sister, Fannie Wickliffe Reese, and three brothers, Jeffery Wickliffe, Bobby Wickliffe (twin), and Johnnie Wickliffe Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his sister, Philas Wickliffe Branch of Lompoc, California, seven nephews, Anthony Branch (Lynn), Edina Minnesota, Kevin Branch (Mandy), Santa Clarita, California, Stanley Wickliffe Sr., Las Vegas, Nevada, Derick Wickliffe, Las Vegas, Nevada, Alfred Givens (Crystal), Las Vegas, Nevada, Ronnie Reese Jr., Flowood, Mississippi, John Reese, Zachary, Louisiana, three nieces, Anaya Chiles (Desi), Blythewood, South Carolina, Faun Reese, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Heidi Reese Candler, Missouri City, Texas, nine great nephews, seven great nieces, extended family, close friends, and church members who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 10:30am, at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, located at 4525 Bissonnet Street, Bellaire Texas, with Pastor Craig Taylor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Houston National Cemetery. We invite all who knew, and loved Bill, to join us in honoring his memory.
