Cecilia Gastmyer

She is preceded in death by her parents Mildred and Spencer Engelbrecht, Cecil Phillips, and other loving family members.

Left with many memories of their life together is her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Ray Gastmyer. She is survived by her kind sister Dolly Edwards and brother Cecil Phillips; Children John Gastmyer (Barbara), Lynda Anderson (Mark), and Robert Gastmyer (Anna). Her greatest joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren Christopher Riner, Nicole Riner (Kasey), Kimberly Piper (Jason), Leighann Douglas (Jason), Christine Davis (Mark), Thomas Gastmyer, Delia Martinez (Joseph), Felicia Vasquez (Monty), Jamie Prieto, Jr. (Nallely), Jennifer Sanchez (Raymundo), Caden, Kaley, Tristan, Hunter, Kora, Brianna, Decon, Bryson, Jolene, Camryn, Charlie, Catherine, Seth, Noah, Ariel, Scarlett, Joseph, Felicity, Jayden, and Isabella.

She loved reading, gardening, swimming, baking, quilting, and animals, especially cats. She is a long time member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Mom, we are going to miss you so much! You can rest in peace. Dad, thank you for taking such good care of mom. We love you.

Donations may be sent to the Dominican Sisters Retirement Fund or Houston SPCA.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 28, 2021, Celebrant Fr. Jay Walsh, CSB, the visitation beginning at 9:30 am, St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77019. Rite of Committal will follow at 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Riner, Mark Anderson, Raymundo Sanchez, Kasey Kimmel, Caden Kimmel and Kaley Kimmel.
