She loved life and lived it well. She spent 57 of her nearly 78 years living with me. We visited all seven continents and used tours only in an African Safari, China/Tibet, and Antarctica. We wanted to meet the people, eat what they ate, enjoy what they enjoyed, share what we could. Many of our travel experiences could never have been planned and those are our favorite memories
At home, she worked to put me through school and more while we searched for ground to put our feet on. When we found that ground, she spent weeks at a time in Vail skiing, hiking, making friends and caring for them. In Houston, she volunteered: for sexually abused children, for those in hospice care, for the children at Yellowstone Academy. The rewards were invaluable.
When she was a special friend, that friendship was never shallow and never limited by geography or time. Halfway was never her way. And those friends, those special friends were there for her too, they wanted whatever she was giving and gave as much in return.
For those desiring, memorial gifts can be made to Yellowstone Academy in Houston.
