Daniel Joseph Krnavek

Daniel Joseph Krnavek, age 79, passed away surrounded by his loving family, in Houston, on August 25, 2012, 12 years to the day that his beloved wife Mildred Marie Cates Krnavek passed away in 2000. He was born in Robstown, Texas on August 12, 1933 to Frank and Minnie Julie Tschoerner Krnavek. He was raised in Corpus Christi. Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife Millie, brothers Al and Roy, and sisters Beatrice, Della, and Dorothy. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, Guam, and Hawaii. He worked for Dover Elevators and retired after 45 years.

Dan is survived by his loving children Danna Psencik and husband Stephen, Danny Krnavek and girlfriend Lisa Placke, Donnie Krnavek and wife Nancy, and Dena Schneider, his loving grandchildren Chase Psencik, Brianna Psencik, Nicole Krnavek, Joshua Krnavek, Mitchell Schneider, Jonathan Krnavek, and Chad Schneider, his siblings Norman Krnavek, Vernell Gardow and Mary Ann Hendren, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends. Dan loved to travel with his wife Millie and family members, traveling to all fifty states, Canada, Germany, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands. He loved taking his children to Idaho, Yellowstone Nat'l Park, Camp Landa, Big Bend, Padre Island, California, Tennessee, etc. as they were growing up.

The family would like to thank his nurse Amy with Hospice Compassus and his care provider Rosalind for their compassionate care during his illness. Also, the family's friend Richard Mitchell for his daily visits and assistance.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home in Bellaire, Texas.
