

Her family moved to Port Arthur, Texas when she was a young child. Sister Doloretta entered the Congregation of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, Houston, Texas, on September 12, 1937. She made her final Profession of Vows on June 6, 1943.
She graduated high school from Incarnate Academy, Houston, Texas and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston.
Sister ministered in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and the Diocese of Beaumont. She taught for fifty-two years in the primary grades during which time she gave many children a strong educational foundation. In the 1960’s she started a Kindergarten and Summer Day Camp on the grounds of the Motherhouse on Bissonnet Street.
Sister was a loving and hospitable person. After retiring from education, she took on a ministry of hospitality for the Community, preparing for and warmly welcoming all guests to our home.
Throughout her life, she was very faithful and dedicated to God, Church, family and community.
Sister was preceded in death by her parents, George and Theresa Thibodeaux, one brother and six sisters. She is survived by her sister, Sister Anastasia Thibodeaux, C.V.I., nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at Incarnate Word Convent, 3400 Bradford Place, Houston, Texas. The Wake Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Motherhouse Convent 3400 Bradford Street Houston, TX 77025. Rev. Stephen McCrate, of St. Joseph Church in Port Arthur, Texas, will be the celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
