Dominga B. Licea

Dominga B. "Minnie" Licea, 86, was born on May 5, 1935 in Simonton, TX and went home to be with our Lord, on Friday, October 15, 2021. A lifelong resident of Houston, she is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Licea, daughter-in-law Beatrice M.Licea, granddaughter Hannah, and daughter Elizabeth & Michael Opiela and grandson, Michael.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sirilo & Josefa Barelas, her husband, Peter C. Licea and their son, Peter M. Licea. Also, her brothers, Marcos Barelas, Manuel Barelas, Cruz Jose Barelas and sister, Frances Barelas Bueno.

She is survived by sisters-in law Esperanza Barelas, Mary Lou Barelas, Hortencia Barelas, and sisters Tomasa & Guadalupe Flores Jr., Lucy Faust, and Dolores & Shahrokh Shahroodi, numerous nieces and nephews.

A dynamic individual filled with a deep faith in God, Minnie championed the cause for faith and family. She tirelessly advocated for youth, family and community outreach with years of volunteer service. A terrific smile, both stern and warm, with a firm commitment to others.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 6PM until 8PM at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet in Bellaire. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30PM, followed by the vigil prayer service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11AM at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church 8200 Roos Road in Houston. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to your favorite registered charity, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church or Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston.
