Dr. Donald Thomas Lazarz

Don went to Rice University undergrad and Baylor College of Medicine to get his medical degree in Orthopedic Surgery. He served briefly in the army as an Army Medic. He practiced Orthopedic Surgery for 50+ years specializing in spinal surgery. He volunteered his time at the VA hospital and Shriners.

Don’s other passions were golf, sailboat racing, traveling and spending time with his family. He also loved gardening and going to Mass on Sundays at St. Vincent de Paul church. He even taught catechism to 8th graders for many years. Don was an over achiever and perfectionist and it showed in everything he did.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Virginia Lazarz. He was survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Lazarz, his children Donnie Lazarz, Mark Lazarz and Ginger Knight and his grandchildren Nicole and Ashley Lazarz and Thomas and Sam Sheives and great grandchild Graham Wood.

Intimate services were held on the 28th of February, 2023 and the 1st of March, 2023 for close family and friends at Earthman Funeral Home in Bellaire, Texas and graveside service at Forest Park East.
