Dorothy “Dotty” Kroll Hunter, born May 15, 1936, left this world to begin her new life on January 23, 2017. Dorothy grew up in her beloved Galveston, Texas. She loved to tell stories of growing up there and of her beautiful school, the Ursuline Academy, which she attended through her high school graduation. After marrying the love of her life, Ken Hunter, she spent the rest of her days in Houston raising her family and working until her retirement. She was a kind soul, with a sarcastic wit. She made friends easily but held a few special ones close. She loved animals, especially dogs, frogs and horny toads. She loved simple things like rainbows, singing birds and walking on the beach. Most of all though she loved her husband and kids. We were very blessed to have her as our Momma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth F. Hunter, Jr., her father, Arthur Jennings Kroll and mother, Dorothy Kroll, by her brother Gordon Kroll, and by her beautiful granddaughter, Samantha Hunter.
Dotty is survived by her sister, Mary Dunbaugh of Dickinson, Texas. By her daughter, Karen Cronauer of Austin, Texas and her husband, Jack and their son, Cody. Her first born son, Steve Hunter, of Deer Park and his wife, Vana, and their two sons, Taylor and Nicholas. Her second son, Kenny Hunter of Houston, and his wife, Teresa. Her third son, Johnny Hunter of Escalon, California, his wife Khris and their children, Jonathan, Maggie, and Jordan. Her fourth son, Tommy Hunter, of Houston, Texas. and his children, Bailey and Dallas. She has great grandchildren which she never got a chance to meet and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom loved their Aunt Dotty.
The hard work is over Mom. No need to worry any more. You did a fine job. It’s time for you to rest and be at peace. We will always love you.
