Gislinde Rose Marie Sofia Reynolds better known to everyone as simply Oma was born in Ansbach, Germany on July 28, 1934. Shortly after being swept off her feet by Thomas Reynolds who was serving overseas, the two married and later settled in the United States.
Through her nearly 89 years on this planet, she was nothing but a fighter surviving war, cancer, and even fire. She got to witness an incredible amount of history while living a full, vibrant, and eventful life thanks to her young-at-heart way of thinking.
Even in her 80s, Oma was still the life of the party whether it was at a nightclub, the BINGO hall, a concert, on the golf course, the casino, meeting her favorite athlete, or even just going out for drinks. Oma never met a stranger with her quick wit and infectious laugh that could be heard on the other side of the room. It is no wonder why so many younger people wanted her to be a part of their lives.
When Oma wasn’t out on the town, you could catch her binge-watching her favorite shows on The Food Network, HGTV, Hallmark, and even reality TV shows like Below Deck, Married at First Sight, and The Real Housewives. If it wasn’t a TV show she was watching, then it was either an all-night James Bond marathon, her cheering on her favorite German golfer Bernhard Langer or rooting for the Houston Astros and Kansas City Chiefs.
It wouldn’t surprise anyone that Oma would have us up until early morning playing some of her favorite games including just about every version of Monopoly there is while jamming to an eclectic soundtrack that included everything from Frank Sinatra to 50 Cent to Big Band music to Christina to Eminem to Madonna and everything in between.
Oma is survived by her four children including Kat Reynolds & Caroline Garcia, nine grandchildren including Joshua Reynolds, multiple great-grandchildren & her beloved Maltese, Niko.
She will definitely be missed and the void will be felt, but she will continue to live in our hearts forever!
To our beautiful Oma…We LOVE you!
