

Henry J. “Hank” Usher is walking the streets of gold with his loving wife, Mary, after passing peacefully into heaven surrounded by his family on Oct.1, 2013. He is survived by son, Joe, wife, Marcia; daughter Natalie Cizik, husband, Robert; Grandchildren: JJ., Brandy, Brooke, Nico, Steve, Adrienne. Greatgrandchildren:Taylor, Austin, Camden, Zander, Quinn, Blake.
Growing up in Cleveland, OH, Hank joined the Army Air Corp at 17, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross after piloting B-17’s and B-24’s during 25 missions over Germany during WWII. Hank graduated from the first pharmacy school class at U of H in 1950. His career included Chief of Pharmacy at Hermann and Memorial Southwest before retirement. Hank and Mary were proud of the Catholic education they provided for their children at St. Vincent de Paul, St. Thomas High School and Saint Agnes Academy. Hank’s quiet inspiration will be missed by a family who loved him greatly.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3rd in the Chapel of Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway. The Right of Committal will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas High School or Saint Agnes Academy in his name.
