James "Jimmy" Charles Solomon

James "Jimmy" Charles Solomon, age 83, passed away April 1, 2010. He was born March 26, 1927 in Beaumont, TX to the late Charlie and Josephine Solomon. Jimmy attended Reagan High School. Shortly after graduation, he began his electrical education at the University of Houston. He served in the US Army during WWII in Italy. Jimmy was honorably discharged on January 30, 1947. He married Doris Attra on October 21, 1951. They both attended St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.

During the 40 years of working for GE he obtained the #1 Service Tech of the year, #1 Outstanding Worker and was known as Mr. “GE” to many people. Jimmy was hard working and loved his clients. On May 1, 1994, he retired from GE after a long dedicated and loyal service.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doris Solomon; brother, Lewis Solomon and wife Marsha; and many loving nieces and nephews that played a great part in his life.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Rd., Houston, TX 77056.
