

Jerry Wayne Lowry, age 76, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family, on July 30th. His legacy is a life given in service to the things he loved.....God, his church and most of all, his family.
Jerry was born in Houston, Texas on the 6th of November 1940, to Frances Marie and E.G. Lowry. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1959 and from Regis University in 1963.
In 1963 Jerry joined E.G.Lowry Construction Co. as an estimator. He served as President from 1970 To 1990. He lived in Steamboat Springs, Co. for 3 years as President of Schaefer Outfitters. Jerry returned home to become President Of Southwest Construction from 1994 To 1999. Several years after his initial retirement, he rejoined the construction industry he missed so much, from 2005 until 2011 at Bellows Construction.
Jerry's past affiliations are Board Chairman of Heights State Bank; President of the Associated General Contractors - Houston Chapter, President of Texas State AGC, Past President of Braeburn Country Club. Present memberships: Lakeside Country Club, Red Sky Country Club Colorado, River Oaks Breakfast Club, Colonneh Club and World President Organization. Jerry was a long time parishioner at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Jerry's mom said that he always wanted to be Italian. Throughout his life he had many Italian friends. Finally his dream came true in 1999 when he reconnected with a life-long friend, Suggie Caliva Longo. They married and he became part of a large and loving Italian family in addition to his large and loving Irish family.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father, E.G. Lowry, his brother, Patrick, his mother-in-law, Rose Caliva and father in law, Jack Caliva. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Suggie Longo Lowry; his mother, Frances Lowry, his children and step children, Wayne And Keith Lowry (Shannon), Dr. Marc Longo (Paola), Victor Longo (Angela), Dr. Lara Longo Gaines (Jason), his grandchildren, Minor and Kaspar Lowry, Carol Anne, Robert And Mary Longo, Andrea and Pablo Tager, and Trey Gaines. Also, his brother, Robert Lowry (Louise), His 6 beloved sisters, Lillis Fisher (Fred), Linda Woodson (Jerry), Catherine Knapik (Michael), Cynthia Dionne (Matthew), Beth Speck (David), Tina Degreene (John) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are his grand children. Honorary pallbearers are Retired Admiral Bob Bell, Stanley Beyer, John Paul Bosco, Glen House, Jason Keyser, Bob Lowry, John Madden, Ray Marshall, Lynn Woolley and his WPO Forum Brothers.
All services will be held on August 19th at the Duchesne Chapel, 10202 Memorial Dr. Visitation at 10:00 and a memorial mass at 11:00. A reception will immediately follow the mass.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests memorial contributions in memory of Jerry be directed to Queen of Peace Church, 3011 Telephone Rd. 77023, St Thomas High School 4500 Memorial Dr. 77007, or Duchesne Academy 10202 Memorial Dr., 77024.
