

Joan Camilla Hoffman Adams, 69, passed away suddenly in her home on Monday, December 2nd. Joan was born in Detroit, Michigan to George Nelson Hoffman and Verna Uhrenoldt Hoffman. She spent her early childhood in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and while in her early teens moved with her family to Denver, Colorado when her father bought the Goodie's Bakery on Colfax Avenue. She graduated with honors from East High School in Denver and later attended Colorado University. While in her twenties she moved to Houston with her parents when her father acquired the position of Weingarten Grocery Bakery Manager. She started her career in Accounting in Houston and while working for the W.D. Hayden Company she met her future husband, Lloyd Adams. They married in 1970. At this time she began working as a Revenue Accountant for the Getty Oil Company and its successor Texaco. She later worked as a contract Division Order Analyst for several independent oil companies.
Joan and Lloyd welcomed the birth of their son Logan Bryan Adams in 1979. Joan retired from the oil and gas industry in 2006 and began enjoying her retirement. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and enjoyed baking and english history.
Joan was preceded id death by her parents and is survived by her beloved husband Lloyd and their son Logan. She will be greatly missed by her husband and son and the many friends she made in her life.
A Funeral Service will be held for Joan at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2013. There will be a visitation beginnng one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at Morton Cemetery, Richardson, TX.
