John Laurence Gorman, Jr.

John L. Gorman Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 14, 2016. On this day he reunited with the love of his life, Helen, who died on December 26, 2012. John was born on March 30, 1928 in Dallas, Texas to John L. Gorman Sr. and Gertrude P. (Gieb) Gorman. He is survived by his four children – J.L. (Larry) Gorman, III, and wife Faye, of Austin; Gregory Gorman and his wife Michèle, of College Station; Michael Gorman and wife Barbara of Cream Ridge, NJ; and LuAnn Gorman of Houston; as well as seven grandchildren - Courtney, Kristen, Monica, Matthew, David, Sarah and Caitlin, and nine great-grandchildren. His brother, Jim and wife Deborah Gorman, and many beloved in-laws, nephews and nieces also survive him.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM, Sunday, January 17th.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 18th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church where he and Helen were founding members.The Rite of Committal will be at a later date at Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas TX.

The family expresses deep appreciation to all of our friends, neighbors and caregivers who helped LuAnn to take care of both Mom and Dad during these last few years. Our sincere gratitude extends to Mary Walker, Jeanette Diaz, Erika Rajani and to the Meal Ministry Team at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
