Julius was taken from us too early but we are filled with immense gratitude to have known and loved an exceptional man who was the best kind of role model to his family, friends and community. He will be remembered as a person of true integrity. He always showed his affection and gave love generously to his wife and children. He was a caring and fun-loving son and brother. He was warm and open with his friends. Julius lived a blessed and purposeful life.
Julius grew up in South Pasadena, CA and he was proud to call Southern Cal home. Julius loved everything about college football including his time playing at Oregon State University and watching his son play the same sport. He enjoyed teaching strategy and sharing in friendly competition with his children through his favorite games: Monopoly, Spades and Pictionary. He was a history enthusiast, liked classic hip hop and appreciated a great bottle of red wine. Julius had a successful 20-year career as an executive at Wells Fargo in Commercial and Corporate Banking. He was the epitome of a natural leader and mentor at work, in athletics and in his personal life.
Julius lived a life grounded in service to others. He was active on several organization boards including Boys & Girls Club of Greater Houston where he was most recently Chairman of the Board. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Houston recently named the annual Youth of the Year award to “The Julius Young Youth of the Year Award,” an honor he was extremely proud to receive in 2021. He was on the Board of Trustees for Episcopal High School and was a former Camp For All board member.
Julius leaves a family that loves him deeply and we will carry him in our hearts. Julius is survived by his wife Michelle; son Julius; daughters Lauren and Jordan; mother Mary “Jacquie”; sisters Rosalind and Summer; mother-in-law Paula; three brothers-in-law, five nephews and several aunts and uncles. Julius is preceded in death by his father Julius Young Sr; niece Angela; and his grandparents.
