Linda Gayle Burnett Patteson, 81, of Houston, Texas died on February 26, 2025 in Houston. She was born in Arlington, Texas on December 5, 1943 to Marvin Burnett, Sr. and Mary Louise Hinds Burnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Darrell Burnett, and the father of her children, John D. Patteson. She is survived by her brother Dave Burnett (Ruth), daughter Cherie Lynn Williams and husband Lance Williams, son John Christopher Patteson and wife Kristi Patteson, grandchildren Caitlin Williams (Travis), Justin Williams, Jenna Patteson, and Julia Patteson; and great granddaughter Caroline Williams.
Linda grew up in the Genoa area and graduated from South Houston High School in 1961. She spent her career in the surveying industry where she was a talented draftsman visiting courthouses all over Texas. She loved her years spent in the Hill Country living in Buchanan Dam. She was an amazing cook with specialties that will live in our memories for many years. Her sass and style were her trademarks. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, wit, and grit. A celebration of life is planned in the near future.
