

Marie was a cornerstone to her family across multiple generations. Her mother, father, husband, sister, and brother preceded her into eternal life.
She is survived by extended members of her family, including David Steffek and family, Patty Miller and family, Carol Burns and family, Doug Steffek and family, Angela Krause (Koranek) and family, Robert Koranek and family, Helen Heitman (Luponic) and family, Joseph Udemi, Anthony Zinnante, Annette Prokop and family, Vincent Zinnante and family, and Marian Zinnante and family. Marie delighted in being godmother, aunt, great aunt and grandmother surrogate to all of the families.
Marie was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a lifelong member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church Choir. She had a generous and joyful way of living, wholeheartedly serving heritage and professional organizations, including Catholic Daughters, UNICO and The Czech Society. Marie and Charlie returned home from his WW2 Naval Service and became one of the first families in Bellaire,TX, giving a lifetime of service to their community in numerous ways. Marie retired as the Office Manager of Standard Shoes in Houston, TX after decades in retail.
Marie loved music, culture, travel, the coastal breeze and sunshine. She enjoyed many happy days at her Surfside,TX beach house with family and friends.
She lived out her golden years in the able care of the Colonial Oaks staff. Her family is grateful to them for their loving kindness and service to her.
Services will be under the direction of Earthman Funeral Home and Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
