

Marvin Leo Brener, age 73, adored son of the late Drs. Lazard and Zidella Brener, passed away on Wednesday, August 17th, 2016. He was born in New Orleans, and was a Tau Delta Phi at the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his Master of Science in Pharmacology.
Those who knew him will attest that he was a character like no other. He was charming, inquisitive, creative, silly, and had an enormous sense of humor and a loud, wonderful laugh. He was kind, sensitive, and generous. He loved to make people laugh and could find the humor in so many situations. People were drawn to him. He also loved Judaism and Jewish values. He always continued to read, study Talmud and ask questions, pray and learn.
Marvin was a devoted father and absolutely loved with all of his heart his daughter Jennifer Brener Seay. He found great happiness in being with her and her husband Mike Seay, and delighted in visiting with his grandchildren.
In addition to Jennifer, her husband Mike and his grandchildren Jude and Joy, Marvin is survived by his brother Dr. Daniel Brener and sister-in-law Sharon Brener, and his nephews Marc Brener, Seth Brener, and Josh Brener and his wife Meghan; his Uncle Aaron ‘Sonny’ Seibel; his Aunt Elaine Seibel; as well as many cousins and friends who loved him.
The graveside funeral will be held Sunday, August 21st at 11am at Beth Yeshurun Cemetery (Post Oak). Shiva service will be that evening at 6:30pm in the Seven Acres chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Jewish Family Service, Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services, or a charity of your choice
