

Mary Eileen Fenske, a lifelong resident of Houston, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 3, 2025, at the age of 67. She was born on July 17, 1957, to Dorothy Joyce (Lawrence) and Carl Werner Fenske. She was a direct descendant of Alexander Hodge, a veteran of the American Revolution and a recipient of one of Stephen F. Austin’s original land grants.
Eileen graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston and attended the University of Texas. She dedicated many of her most meaningful years to caring for her parents as a devoted home caregiver. A passionate bowler, she was a fixture in Houston's bowling community, participating in numerous leagues and tournaments both locally and across the country.
Affectionately known as Eileen to family and friends, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John William (Jack) Fenske.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Ann (Fenske) Williams and Janet Claire Fenske, both of Houston; her brother, Thomas Edmund Fenske and his wife Gretchen of Mebane, North Carolina; her nephew, John Todd Williams and his wife Nancy of Plano, Texas; and her niece, Audrey Katrina Fenske and her husband Devin Sweet of Durham, North Carolina.
Eileen also leaves behind extended family members including Janet Chatelain Pickell; Laura (Pickell) Johannsen, both of Austin, Texas; Barbara (Pickell) Fernandez of Delray Beach, Florida; Michael Pickell of League City, Texas ; Jason Johnson and Casey Johnson of North Carolina; great-nephew Jacob Williams of Plano Texas; great-nieces Tierney and Corinna Sweet of Durham, North Carolina; many cousins and their families; and especially her lifelong friend, Betty Lynne Riggin.
She will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.
