Mitch was born on February 16, 1944 to Edward Allan and Lily Mae (Kallis) Martin at the Naval Air Station in Norman, Oklahoma. He graduated from Westbury High School in 1962 after attending Mount Carmel High School in Houston. He later attended the University of Houston.
During Vietnam, he proudly served in the Air Force for 4 years on a Combat Support Group based out of Clark Air Base in the Philippines. He was a decorated judo player competing internationally and across the U.S. achieving the rank of 8th degree black belt.
He is survived by his wife Sharron, his sister Linda, his children Trammel, Michele, Meghan and Denise, and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Mitch’s life is planned for December 21st at 2pm at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church at 717 Sage Rd, Houston, TX 77056. A reception will follow the service.
