Rae Frances Mahoney

On December 14, 2016 our Mother, our Grandmother, our Best Friend returned to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Plaucheville, Louisiana on February 22, 1927 to Dennis and Anita Lauve Mayeux. Rae attended St. Joseph High School. She attended Schumpert School of Nursing in Shreveport, Louisiana. Rae grew up in Plaucheville, Louisiana, Rae married Clarence Patrick Mahoney on October 15, 1955. They were married for 52 years.

Pat and Rae dedicated themselves to raising their children. Rae was a Mother and Mentor to many children in addition to her own. Rae was loving, caring and a great cook. Most importantly she was a member of the Roman Catholic Church- St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for 53 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dennis Patrick Mahoney and her husband Clarence Patrick Mahoney.

Rae Mahoney is survived by her sons, Michael Gerard Mahoney and wife Darala Mahoney, John Paul Mahoney, and grandson Cody Michael Mahoney and two brothers Gerard Paul Mayeux and Clay Michael Mayeux of Plaucheville, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, St. Francis de Sales Catholic School and Strake Jesuit Preparatory School.

A celebration of her life will include visitation at Earthman Funeral Home on December 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Francis de Sales on December 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Followed by Graveside services at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
