She was born December 20, 1919 in Bellevue, Kentucky, the oldest of seven children to Theodore and Lenora Longshore. One of her fondest childhood memories was swimming back and forth across the Ohio River.
Rosemary was a passionate woman, fiercely dedicated to her many causes – healing the body through natural foods and eliminating sugar; the Traditional Catholic Church; and the John Birch Society, which believes in less government and more individual responsibility. She was often seen with a book or pamphlet in hand, asking neighbors, friends, or strangers to sign a petition or write their congressman. You could often hear her on radio call-in shows promoting her missions.
Rosemary had a sweet, loving heart, a kind soul and a captivating smile that lit up the room.
She married Walter Coe in November 1946, just after he was discharged from the Marines after serving in World War II. They moved to Houston shortly thereafter and made their home in Bellaire. He preceded her in death in 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers Paul and Jim Longshore, and her granddaughter, Minty Rees Brandley.
She is survived by her sisters Rita Lee Schroeder and T. Jean Longshore; brothers Bob and Dick Longshore; son Robert Coe and wife Susan; son David Coe and wife Laura; daughter Barbara Blocher and husband Tom; daughter Beth Coe and her partner Pat Glass; and daughter Nancy Coe Thomas and her partner Max (Dwain) Wilson as well as her grandchildren Laura and Ryan Coe, Katie and Lucas Blocher; and her great grandson Michael Brandley.
The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Sophia McKay for her love and support over the last several months.
