

Sister Jacqueline was born Mary Catherine Driscoll at Dr. Edward Rischar Hospital (later it was renamed St. Edward Hospital) in Cameron, Texas to Daniel David and Katherine Marie (Fuchs) Driscoll. She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in February, 1958 at Villa de Matel, Houston. She made her Perpetual Profession of Vows on August 15, 1965.
Sister grew up in Burlington, Texas. She was educated at St Michael’s Elementary School and Rosebud High School. Her great ambition was to become a nurse and upon graduation from high school she went to Providence School of Nursing in Waco, TX to study nursing. After graduation, she worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple, TX and John Sealey Hospital in Galveston, where she received excellent experience. Sister gave excellent patient care in her role as a nurse at many health care facilities sponsored by the Congregation throughout Texas and Louisiana, mainly: St. Therese Hospital, Beaumont, TX; St. Mary Hospital, Port Arthur, TX; St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana, AR; St. Joseph Hospital, Houston, TX; St. Charles Hospital, Newellton, LA, and St. Placidus Convent, Houston, TX. After her ministry in nursing, Sister Jacqueline served in social work at San José Clinic, Houston, TX. She ministered to the homeless at Our Daily Bread, Galveston, TX; and served as a patient representative at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA. In 2002, Sister Jackie received the St. Vincent de Paul Humanitarian Award. The award read: Sr. Jackie Driscoll, who by following the example of St. Vincent de Paul has served the needy of the Diocese of Alexandria. In addition, in 2003, Sr. Jackie received the Service to Children Award from the Rapids Children’s Advocacy Center in recognition of her support and dedication to the children of Central Louisiana. While working at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Sister was honored in February, 2005 by the Alexandria Human Relations Committee for her dedication in promoting understanding and quality of life in the community.
Sister Jacqueline is survived by two sisters: Ruth Jane Driscoll Williamson of Georgia and Betty Mae Driscoll Slavik of Texas, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Sister Jacqueline’s body will be received privately at the Immaculate Conception Chapel, Villa De Matel, 6510 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas at 5:00 p.m. on March 27, 2022, followed by Evening Praise and a celebration of her life. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on March 28, 2022. A private Rite of Committal will follow at Villa De Matel Cemetery.
