

Stanley Guinn Gilmore, 77, a Kingwood resident, passed peacefully on February 1, 2016, after a courageous two year battle with cancer. A native Houstonian, Stan was born May 15, 1938, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, 1956.
Stan loved God, his faith, and his family. Throughout his life, he met many wonderful people and made lasting friendships. For many years, he has worked in the travel industry, most recently with Frosch International Travel, giving him the opportunity to travel the world. Stan sang in the choir at St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Kingwood where he satisfied his passion for music and singing. Stan was indeed blessed by the wonderful friends he made at St. Martha’s.
Stan is preceded in death by his father, Fred Guinn Gilmore, and his brother, Benny Anthony Gilmore. He is survived by his mother, Josephine Gilmore, his partner, David Emerick, his brother, Jerry Gilmore and wife Linda, beloved nieces and nephews, and countless cousins and friends.
A visitation will begin at 9:00 am, Thursday, February 4, 2016, with a Rosary at 9:45am, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am, all services at the Warren Chapel at St. Dominic Village, 2401 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77021. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice.
