Alicemarie Inez Overturf

Alicemarie loved the Lord, her family, friends and Angels. The daughter of the late Vernon and Vivian Brown of Jonesboro, Arkansas, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mickey C. Brown and only sister, Susan Elizabeth Brown.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth N Overturf of Sauget, Illinois; two children, Anita S. Overturf, and son, K. James Overturf of Sauget, Illinois, one grandson, Erik Vasquez of Belleville, Illinois; and two brothers Bobby Brown of Cahokia and Travis Brown of St. Louis. Also, her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alicemarie began her work career at Stix Baer & Fuller and went on to work at the Cahokia Fitness Center and the Belleville Memorial Fitness Club. Alicemarie also volunteered at the Cahokia School District for many years. She was a devoted Christain and member of Jerome Lane Baptist Church in Cahokia. There she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible Study.

Alicemarie was a kind and gentle soul. The memory of her love for the Lord and compassion for those she met along the way has touched the lives of many individuals.

A visitation for Alicemarie will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy West, Belleville, IL 62223.

A service will take place Wednesday at Valhalla at 10:00 AM followed by a committal service. Lunch will then be served at the Masonic Lodge 504 located at 9950 St. Clair Avenue in Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208. Everyone who loved Alicemarie are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Louis Shriners Hospital.
