Arlene Mary Queen (nee Klein) of Mobile, AL, formerly of Belleville, IL, born August 31, 1936, died Saturday, August 10, 2024, at The Retreat at Saad's, Mobile, AL. Mrs. Queen worked for many years as an activity director at various nursing homes, but her greatest achievement were her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Queen was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Emma (nee Haas) Klein, her husband, Karl Queen, a son, Bart Streif, two sisters Lavern Haley and Evelyn "Tootie" Knipp and one brother Ralph "Chuck" Klein.
She is survived by her longtime companion Colonel Davis Clark, US Army Retired; four sons, Gregory (Sharon) Streif, Sr. of Louisville, KY, Dale (Jenice) Streif of Belleville, IL, Dennis (Mary) Streif of Columbia, IL and Roger (Linda) Streif of Caseyville, IL; her two daughters Peggy (Joe) Hock of Irvington, AL and Ericka (Tommy) Bazor of Semmes, AL; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers Othmar "Butch" (Nancy) Klein and Raymond (Alice) Klein and a sister Irma Jesnick, all of Mascoutah, IL; many nieces, nephews and friends.
