

Charles was an electrical engineer and worked as a lighting design specialist for Edison Brothers for 30+ years. After he retired from Edison Brothers, he created Community Kindness Resale Shop to help those in need, where he spent 6 days a week for 25 years. During his retirement, he also co-created Collected Devolopment Corp. with his friend, Judy Spitz, buying and fixing houses to utilize as rental properties.
When Charlie wasn’t busy working or volunteering his time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, writing poetry, and searching for treasure with his metal detector. In earlier years, he enjoyed gardening, coaching his son’s sports teams and assisting his Boy Scouts troop. He was an incredibly proud father and grandfather. He was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church and Concordia United Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael F. and Stella M. (née Elder) Kramer; siblings, Michael (Jeannine) Kramer; Richard (Marion) Kramer, Isabelle (Bill) Faughn, and Phillip Kramer (in infancy).
Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, Scott Kramer and his girlfriend, Stephanie Walter, and her children, Logan and Easton Walter; granddaughters, Kiersten (William) McKorkle and Kaitlyn (Alex) Cranick; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Gershen, Evelyn McKorkle, and Koen Cranick; dear friend and business partner, Judy Spitz; plus numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was an incredibly kind and hardworking man who will always be remembered for his love and generosity.

Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Charlie’s life at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home on Sunday, August 13th, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
He will be laid to rest at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL at a later date.
