Charlotte Nell Burgess

She married Samuel C. Burgess Sr. on December 31, 1955 in East St. Louis, IL. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren.

She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital E. St. Louis, IL in 1992. She was a member of the Women of the Moose for over 50 years. She loved playing bingo and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todds Mill, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband on September 12, 1993, parents Hubert Deatherage and Lurah Deatherage, nee Gee, sisters Marylyn Smith, Patricia (Dominic Sr.) Paz, brother Robert "Sonny" Deatherage and nephew Dominic Paz Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Samuel Burgess of Pinckneyville, IL, Michael (Nancy) Burgess of Lakeland, FL, Lorraine McGough of Pinckneyville, IL, Patrick (Linda) Burgess of Granite City, IL, grandchildren Angela (Billy) Harris, Aaron Burgess, Samantha McGough and Allyn Burgess, great-grandchildren Kristian Harris and Damian Harris, nieces and nephews Lynn (Jim) Davis of Evansville, IN, Frank (Ella) Smith of Troy IL, Sharon (Danny) Crossen of Caseyville, IL, Melinda Paz of Avondale, AZ, Patti Paz of Avondale, AZ, Michael (Diane) Paz of Gilbert, AZ, Gary (Cecilia) Paz of Phoenix, AZ, Kary (Jeff) Paz of Phoenix, AZ and Thomas (Maxine) Paz of Avondale, AZ.

Per Charlotte’s wishes there is no funeral or memorial service. Prayer was given by Monsignor John Myler.
