

Mr. Haps was a retired operator for Mobil Oil, retiring in 1981 after 31 years of service. He was a proud member of the Kansas Aviation Museum, the Civil Air Patrol and the Mobil Oil Club. He served in WW II, in the Army Air Corps and was a lifetime member of the VFW post 8677.
Mr. Haps was preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia, nee Eckmann, Haps; his parents, Lester J. and Madeline, nee Guetterman, Haps; granddaughter, Barbara Herndon and a brother in law, Bob Swanston.
Surviving are his loving and devoted children, Patti Waldrip, Richard (Judy) Herndon and Gary (Cindy) Haps; grandchildren, Robin (Marian) Lanius, Jay (Rose) Gordon, Jana (Ken) Meentze, Bill (Jodi) Lanius, Rick (Jana) Herndon, David (Heather) Herndon, Michael (Carrie) Herndon, Michelle Berkel, Jamey (Jenya) Haps and Christopher Haps; 28 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Swanston also, survived by dear friends and neighbors.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm at the funeral home, on Thursday, September 1, 2016
Interment will be held in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
