

David was a retired machinist for Lincoln Engineering. He was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, O’Fallon Illinois; and a life time member of Rankin Trade School. He was an avid mall walker at St. Clair Mall and enjoyed camping. David served in the United States Army during WW II. He loved to talk to people, never met a stranger and was always willing to help when needed.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Grace, nee Miller Sternberg, and his sisters, Marguerite (Bill) Gordon and Mary Marjorie (Harry) Creswell Johnson.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 74 years, Dorothy, nee Davis Lynn; sons, David M. (Barbara) Lynn, Jr., and Gary L. (Marilyn) Lynn; grandchildren, Mike Lynn, Brian (Lori) Lynn, James (Lara) Lynn, Steve (Kris) Lynn and Diana Moore; great grandchildren, Austin, Conner, Ava, Jack, Cody, Curtis, Courtney, Jordan, Tori, Chase and Bailey; and other family and many friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating David’s life will be held at The Chapel Mausoleum on the grounds of Valhalla Gardens of Memory on Saturday, August 16, 2014 for 1:00 p.m. . Private inurnment will be held in Valhalla Gardens of Memory,
Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.
