Dean enjoyed traveling, communicating with friends and neighbors, and helping his relatives when needed. He served in the US Navy during the 2nd World War and subsequently joined the US Army and was stationed in Alaska. After these tours of duty, he worked at the Aeronautical Chart E. Information Center in St. Louis until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas Eccles and Ida Mae (nee Schoeneweis) Eccles; his wife, Ruth; his daughter, Janis; his nephew, Stephen Mitchell; his brothers, Wayne and Dale and his sister, Victoria.
Dean is survived by his son, Keith D. Eccles; granddaughter, Dawn (James); two great grandchildren; a brother, Sidney Eccles; and a sister-in-law, Helen Beatty.
There will be no public services held. Per Mr. Eccles’ request, his cremated remains will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean.
