Deanna Sue Stokes

She was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Belleville, IL where she served on the financial board, was co-leader of the senior travel group and past sponsor of the high school youth group, as well as being active in other ways. Deanna loved traveling the world with her husband Charles and spending time with her family, whom she was incredibly proud of. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling and golfing. Deanna graduated from Belleville Township High School and was a member of the ’56 Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burnard and Elinor (nee Guenther) Northcutt; her beloved husband of 46 years, Charles Stokes; first husband, James Fulton and brother, Richard Northcutt.

She is survived by her sons, Charles (Cassandra) Stokes II of Nashville, TN, Michael (Diana) Fulton of Belleville, IL, David (Rita) Fulton of Millstadt, IL; daughters, CDR Deborah Stokes, (Ret.) of Anchorage, AK, Donna (Randy) Shell of Barnhart, MO; grandchildren, Nicole Eichenseer, MSgt Brian Stokes, Stacy Barger, Kristie Redman, Nicholas and Stephen Fulton, Sarah O'Sullivan, Matthew and Amy Shell, Chad Parkhurst, Morgan Hentzler and Emily Fulton; great-grandchildren, Garrett Redman, Brooke Wise, Abigail and Alyssa Eichenseer, Evelyn and Autumn Parkhurst, Madelyn and Abigail O’Sullivan and Harper Hentzler; sister, Betty Jo Arendell; brother, Charles Northcutt; plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, July 11, 2022 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL with Pastor Doug Hargrave officiating.

Interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
