Donna Fay Bateman

Donna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in O’Fallon, Illinois. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert C. and Mary A., nee Miles, Barnhart; a sister, Judith S. Fisher; a brother, Ricky L. Barnhart; and a granddaughter-in-law, Angie Bateman.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 43 years, James R. Bateman, Sr., of New Baden, Illinois; her children, Rebecca Bateman, of Houston, Texas, James R. “Scutler” (Mercedes) Bateman, Jr., of New Baden, Illinois, and Tammie (Mike Halfhill) Bateman, of Belleville, Illinois; her grandchildren, Justin M. Bateman, Jessie (Jordan) Simington, Katlyn (John) Bateman, Jamie (Tillman) Bateman, Samantha Hammel and Levi Hooker; her great grandchildren, Madison, Julia, Tobias, Reign, Lindsey, Hayley, E’Melio, Tillman, Jr., and Ahziyah; her siblings, Charlotte (Steve) Lear, Bonnie (Gabriel) Guzman, Hubert “Bubby” Barnhart, Reba (Phil) Haile, and Barb (Edgar) Bates; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held privately due to current restrictions from Covid-19.
