

Edna enjoyed crafting, including but not limited to crocheting, scrapbooking, sewing, making art with figurines and found driftwood, plus quilting with her church group. She loved the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed swimming, camping, fishing and strolling through the woods. Edna was a homemaker, a woman of faith, a fantastic cook and a “wandering soul.” She came from a military background and traveled often with her family. Above all else, Edna adored her family. Edna was a kind, supportive woman who will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Wesley Gamblin and Vergie Fieldon Gamblin (nee Swift); brothers: Cecil, Floyd and Carl Gamblin; husbands: Ervin Thielemann and Tommy Dickerson.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children: Edna T. Thielemann, Terry Thielemann, Rodger (Elizabeth) Thielemann, Susan Thielemann, Michael Thielemann, Mark (Debra) Thielemann and Michelle Kettner (nee Martin); siblings: Donald, Judy, Janie and Joe Dale Gamblin; former spouse: Billy Martin; plus numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
Friends and family may visit from 4-6 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL with a memorial service to commence at 6 PM.
